Get Organized!
"I just can't get organized." is the biggest complaint we hear at Scrap'n Nook. We know the feeling, as scrappers ourself we know how difficult it is to be creative when the area you create in is a mess. To help you get organized and stay organized in 2008 we have come up with these tips.

Label, Label, Label, and then Label Some More
Everything should have a place and that place should be labeled. The quicker you can find your supplies the more creating you will get done. You will also find yourself enjoying your hobby more and in return you will be more likely to create.

Store In Themes
When you shop at Scrap'n Nook you will notice that we have organized the store into themes. The themes make it easy to find an item for the specfic project you are working on. The same applies to your craft supplies. Start with your papers, as you organize your papers keep track of your themes. Use these themes to help organize the rest of your supplies. Don't forget to make a miscellaneous catagory.

Keep Your Tools Handy
We all have those cutting tools, templates, and other supplies that are tucked away. These tools are useful, but we ignore them because we don't want to have to dig them out. By keeping your tools handy you will make use of these more expensive gadgets on a regular basis.

Pens and Ink Pads Require Special Attention
Pens should never be stored vertically, especially gel pens. Pens need to be stored tip down at a gentle angle. The slight angle keeps the tip wet without having the full pressure of all the ink. Pens that are not used on a regular basis should be pulled out every so often and used to keep the tips fresh. As for ink pads, many experts claim that dye inks should be stored right side down and that pigment inks should be stored right side up. It is important to keep both the pens and ink pads away from vents and windows. Both need to be stored at room temperature with no extremes.

Take Notes and Use Page Organizers
I have found that I get a lot more done at crops and at home when I use page planners. When I see an idea that I like I tear or cutout the idea, grab the photos that I think will work with the idea, and any additional embellishments that I have that may work. I organize the supplies in a page planner and make any additional notes on a scrap of paper. By planning my pages ahead of time I can be sure that even if I only have 15 - 30 minutes to crop I will be able to get some scrapbook pages complete.
